Editorial policy

Accuracy

Every fact in a story must come from a source we can link to. Numbers, names, dates and quotes are checked against the source text before publication. We prefer primary sources: official releases, orders, filings, data and on-record statements.

Attribution

We name our sources and their roles. We do not rely on unnamed “experts” or unspecified “reports”.

Fairness

People accused of crimes are described as accused until a court decides. Where a story makes a serious claim against a person or organisation, we include their response when it is on record.

Harm and the law

We follow Indian law and Press Council of India norms. We never identify victims of sexual offences, children in conflict with the law or child victims, and we report suicide without describing methods, with helpline details (Tele MANAS 14416). We do not publish content that promotes enmity between groups.

Images

We use images that are free to reuse with credit (Wikimedia Commons, official government sources and Pexels) or our own branded graphics. We do not use news agency photographs.

Use of AI

Our stories are researched and drafted by an AI system under these rules and checked by an automated publish gate and a nightly editorial review. We disclose this on our About our newsroom page. We do not publish pages made only to attract search traffic.

Updates and corrections

Stories that develop are updated in place and show an “Updated” time. Errors are corrected with a dated note and listed on our corrections page.
